Electronically charged metal brood Hourcast play the kind of moody, atmospheric nu metal that falls somewhere in the range of Mudvayne, Staind, and tourmates Sevendust. On this Boston-based quartet's 13-track debut, while there's barely anything that distinguishes this unit from the countless other bands with the big rock sound with mountains of programming underneath, songs like "Uhaul" and '"Sakkara" belt out enough catchy hooks and metallic firepower to raise an interest in the same crowds that flock to Disturbed and Godsmack. Everything from the solid rhythm section to the darkened aura set by the guitars on tracks like "Numb" to the on-target expressiveness of the vocals falls into its place well enough to garnish STATE OF DISGRACE some praise amongst the Ozzfest contingent.
