FAKE H
FAKE H
SELF-RELEASED

New Jersey’s Fake H’s hybrid sound channels nu metal’s rage, as the quartet’s five-track release is stocked with beefy choruses and tortured screams like the one found on “EZ Pass”. The band also treads emocore a la Deftones with mixed results on “Half Ass Hustler” and tries a little tenderness on “Two at a Time”, sounding like Default with an attitude problem. Fake H’s awkward blend of styles and heavy-handed playing pitches a much more jarring than intended listening experience.
