LIFE OF AGONY
RIVER RUNS AGAIN: LIVE 2003
SPV

Ask any current metal or hardcore luminary about bands they admire and count as influential, and the mighty hardcore crossover Brooklyn quartet Life of Agony almost always are mentioned. Why? Well, after a six-year hiatus, the boys answered that question when LOA pulled off a two-night sold out stint at NYC's Irving Plaza. To commemorate the occasion, the band has released the 21-track live offering RIVER RUNS AGAIN. Sorely missed and shamelessly imitated, LOA's triumphant return comes on the heels of a resurgence of hard music, which songs like "Lost at 22" and "Bad Seed" helped to shape for the year 2003. The band never sounded better, as songs like "Weeds" and "This Time" are played with unrivaled spirit and are backed by about 1000 people echoing the choruses. How's that for power? Luckily, RIVER RUNS AGAIN marks the full-fledged return for this incendiary outfit, which are currently mapping out a world tour and new album as you read this. The river runs again, indeed.
