Best know as creators of viscous walls of low-slung sludge laden doom metal, Chicago-based quartet Indian unleashes another unsettling listening experience in the form of their latest dastardly excursion GUILTLESS. Teeming with a multitude of abrasive rhythms and caustic compositions crammed with enough blood curdling screams to awaken the dead from eternal slumber (“The End of Truth”), this seven-track sojourn refutes serenity to devastate with a dynamically-charged downtuned crush that forebodingly dominates the atmosphere, only resting occasionally with subdued interludes (“Supplicants”) before annihilating the remainder of what is miraculously left standing (“Benality”). GUILTLESS finds Indian delivering a visceral and raw reminder of underground metal at its most coarse.
