Greenwheel's debut 12-track release falls somewhere between the tepid rock of Matchbox Twenty and the near tepid rock of Fuel. Needless to say, this Missouri based band is big on emotion, pulling the heartstrings of alternative rock fans everywhere with a bland blend of balladeering and posturing. Every song starts strong, gets wimpy when the lyrics get sung and becomes utterly complacent by the tune's end, almost carbon copying the mid '90s Live/ Third Eye Blind college campus cookie cutter formula ad naseum. For those that think Nickleback is groundbreaking, Greenwheel may tickle the fancy, but for the real rock fan, SOMA HOLIDAY is nothing more than a wasted vacation gone awry.
