FALL FROM GRACE/ SKARE TACTIC
SPLIT CD
LIBERTY

California hardcore finds its roots deeply entrenched between the NYHC old school sound and metal's potent crunch, and the two bands featured on this eight track split disc are prime examples of this. Fall From Grace's fist swinging set comes first, as this quintet take the East Coast attitude and run with it with songs like "The Light", a crunchy screamfest that sounds like a cross between Sick Of It All and Sworn Enemy. Skare Tactic appear next, and this group's four tracks also implement the same mentality and bruising musical formula, yet they go a little further back into the NYHC catalog, at times giving props to bands such as Youth of Today and Shutdown with punkier numbers like "Failed Perspective". Both bands embody hardcore's endurable spirit, and while they aren't progenerators of the scene like both outfit's influences, Fall From Grace and Skare Tactic do an admirable job of bringing the real hardcore vibe to the west side.
