THE ILLUMINATI
ON BORROWED TIME
LIQUOR AND POKER

Progressive boogie rockers The Illuminati have discovered a flawless musical formula that compacts multitudes of musical ideas into shards of hard rocking roadhouse anthems. This Canadian trio's ON BORROWED TIME is a jawdroppng 14-track album where Iron Maiden, The Cult, ZZ Top, Fu Manchu, Van Halen and Motorhead meet at a bucket o' blood for a few cold ones, as tracks like "Impressions" swings with horned hand swagger, while "The Jericho Mile" makes for an exhilaratingly monstrous mid-tempo ripper and "Lay Low" goes from moody to whiskey-fueled through a dizzying array of guitar heroics. Drenched in the blues, soaked with rock 'n roll saturation, and taught via jazz, these proficient professors of rawk have produced a tight, terse feelgood album that is extremely likable to anyone that appreciates the art form that is rock.
