OFF WITH YOUR HEAD
Serious Suicide's album cover boasts a woman in a wedding dress wielding a large butcher knife caked with blood, yet the seven tracks on the album are not nearly as dangerous. On the contrary, this Hollywood based female fronted quartet harkens back to the days of shock rock a la Alice Cooper with a touch of Blondie thrown in for musical direction. It's kind of hard to take songs like "Fuck Me Until I'm Dead" for real, yet it contains a memorable hook and a real flashback sound that you may mistake for something done in the UK circa 1982. The kicker here is the pseudo Gothic cover of "To Sir With Love", the song your mom and dad probably held hands to, which caps off Serious Suicide's campy yet thoroughly entertaining disc.
