Leave it to our good friends at Southern Lord to deliver the sludge. This time around, it comes in the form of a Japanese troupe whose love for all that is slow, deep, and hard, a la The Melvins. The name of this tempo challenged group is Boris, and the six songs that it breeds are prime examples of how to drive a beat and a riff straight into the ground. Like the stomping of a drunken Godzilla, Boris finds itself laconically roaming through the streets of Tokyo with a plethora of sonic firepower. Torturously grinding and skull rattling, bring your attention span, earplugs and hallucinogenic, folks; you're in for quite the trip. Sadly, subtitles not included.
