TALKING TO WALLS
WE WERE NOT SO TALL
SELF-RELEASED

Talking to Walls is a quartet from Connecticut whose 12-track offering entitled WE WERE NOT SO TALL employs ample amounts of indie rock guitar jangle, strong vocal harmonies, and a soulful alternative rock appeal (“Crossed”) to make a noticeable dent on the college rock scene (“Running Out”). Stylistically steeped somewhere in the 90’s between Goo Goo Dolls and Gin Blossoms with a touch of gloom via The Cure for good measure (“Tomorrow”), this troupe maintains an infectious sense of melody and keeps interests piqued throughout yet it’s on cuts like the bagpipe-led “Song for Megan” and the lush instrumentation found on the dream pop tune “Chiaroscuro” that demonstrates a reach that goes far and beyond past the expected beer pong soundtrack circuit.
