VOODOO SHOCK
MARIE'S SISTER'S GARDEN
EXILE ON MAINSTREAM

Voodoo Shock really like The Obsessed and Cathedral. At least that's what the 11 tracks on MARIE'S SISTER'S GARDEN suggest, as this bluesy doom metal release contains the prints of Wino and Lee Dorian all over it. Well that and old school Sabbath and new school Witchcraft with a hint on Seattle grunge rock draped over tunes like "Custom-made but Sacrificed". Hazy rhythms, foundation-shaking riffs, and the rotating cast of fluctuating tempos from slow and sludgy to mid tempo and crunchy to bright and swinging all are some of this German troupe's most prized assets, and when played in succession after a few imbibed intoxicants, tracks like "Miserable Mercy" take shape as fine predecessors to the initial doom movement.
