CELLBLOCK ONE
SELF RELEASED
SELF RELEASED

Vermont is known for being the states for lovers, but there's not a lot of love being doled out on the 12-track endeavor from the trio Cellblock One. Instead, there's a simple yet effective demonstration of hard rock heard on this self-titled disc, thanks in part to the "live feel" recording employed. Mighty riffs and power grooves heard on cuts like "Fighting Against the Mirror" and "Revolution" harken back to the early days of American thrash metal while a slew of tasty licks unearthed from the NWOBHM-era are audible on tracks like "Love My Hate". There's nothing fancy about this one folks, just some straight-up skull bashing that fans of Godsmack, Black Label Society, and Saxon will find something to raise their fists to.
