THE TONY DANZA TAP DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA
DANZA II: THE ELECTRIC BOOGALO
The Tennessee-based five-man wrecking crew known as The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza possess an awesome array of technical metal skills that they gladly brutalize your ears with on their sophomore effort, DANZA II: THE ELECTRIC BOOGALO. Frenzied guitars, grindcore rhythms, and guttural screams comprise the backbone to this outfit's spastic sound, and when coupled with their off-centered tongue in cheek humor, it's kind of easy to misunderstand just where the sheer aggression and the black comedy meet from songs titles like "Nobody Eats BBQ Two Days in a Row". But don't be fooled by the whimsical overtones, mistaking TTDTDE for one of those rock bands that use ironic titles and wear women's jeans; these guys exude the kind of crazed metal that fans of Ion Dissonance, The Red Chord, and all of the heaviest players in the game do with a similar sense of conviction and savagery, thanks to the brain-frying riffs and jerky time signature measures found on such blistering cuts as "Crunchy Black Did Me In At Midnight Madness". Aural insanity, indeed.
