REEL BIG FISH
MONKEYS FOR NOTHIN' AND CHIMPS FOR FREE
ROCK RIDGE

Even though you'd never be able to tell by the genuine upbeat approach of Orange County ska-meisters Reel Big Fish, they apparently finally feel free enough to have a good time. This new found feeling of elation, perhaps having to do with being unhinged by major label pressure, shines across this veteran sextet's latest 17-track offering, the ridiculously titled MONKEYS FOR NOTHIN' AND CHIMPS FOR FREE. From their bouncy ode to the F-word ("Another F.U. Song"), an upbeat cover of Phil Collins' "Another Day in Paradise", and the sugary sweet punk and prominent horns of "Cannibal" and "The New Version of You", this disc, not to be taken seriously in the least, provides every high school sophomore with enough sardonic wit, sarcastic banter, and comical musical firepower to last at least until Halloween. If you yearn for early Blink 182 and adore Bowling for Soup, this release is a must-have.
