ART OF KANLY
A CALLOUS HEART BEATS ON
SOUND VS. SILENCE

Salt Lake City troupe Art of Kanly's experimentalist slant on hardcore fuels the 11-track A CALLOUS HEART BEATS ON. Falling somewhere between Snapcase, Unsane, Bloodlet, and VOD, this quintet's metallic noise-rock medleys such as "Tracy" mesh well with the quintet's recurring hypnotic heaviness notably found on "I've Discovered the Formula for Radness", complementing each other's stack of raging riffs and high-end strangled vocals. While these cats are basically emulating styles first heard from the early '90s, Art of Kanly convincingly set rhythmic bombs ablaze on caustic tracks like "Trailer Parks and Churches" and :When Bad People Happen to Good People", unfurling air-tight drum and bass that is sure to get the pit moving.
