HASTE THE DAY
PRESSURE THE HINGES
SOLID STATE

Indiana's Haste the Day have undergone a lead singer shakeup and have streamlined their metalcore sound a bit on the 13-track PRESSURE THE HINGES. This Christian quintet have shed a good portion of their shred for a more well-rounded, Thrice-esque approach on cuts like "White Collar", "The Minor Prophets" and "Stitches", yet there's still hefty breakdowns aplenty to be found on tunes like the title track and "Vertigo" to keep the pit going until someone gets hurt. But if you're looking for something straight up, you'd better look elsewhere, as songs such as "Janet's Planet" suggests a band that is more comfortable to expand their musical horizons instead of pound and pummel.
