FIRST ROUND KNOCKOUT
THE MUSIC CARTEL
Looking for an album to kick your teeth straight down your throat? Then pick up Swedish trio Deride's latest nine track endeavor and feel the crushing power overcome your puny existence. Screaming vocal lines that don't let up an inch lead the molten metal attack that sounds like a cross between Vulgar-era Pantera and Anthrax's middle years. While many may dispel this type of metal as dated, the fervor that Deride put into FIRST ROUND KNOCKOUT is unsurpassed. Even though the playbooks of some of metal's elite have been plagiarized, the overall verdict is that Deride does justice by keeping it real, hard, and above all, heavy.
